The locomotive CCFR no. 7, fabricated in 1907,
can be considered one of the many theme variations of the utmost
spread class of the little German T3 locomotives, made by Henschel
to satisfy the needs of the various railway companies. In the CCFR
no. 7 the boiler, the suspensions and the water boxes, between the
girders, are identical to the T3's scheme. Different are the larger
wheels and the Walschaerts distribution, used instead of Allan's.
The Officine Reggiane used this locomotive as a model to fabricate
the first series of steam engines, as testified by the CCFR no.
8 (second unit fabricated at the Reggiane) shown in the Ogliari's
Museum at Ranco, Italy. In 1914 the Reggiane fabricated a second
little series of locomotives with minor changes, one of which is
still existing as monument at Chiesina Uzzanese, close to Pistoia,
Italy.
