These cars have taken their name from Senator
Corbellini, the Minister of Transportation in the period of the
post-war reconstruction, who ordered 516 3rd class cars with central
doors between 1951 and 1954. After the abolition of the 3rd class
in all Europe in 1956, these cars were upgraded as 2nd class. The
cars provided 68 places with wooden seats, as the ' Centoporte'
cars, with some features that improved the confort of the passengers
like padded head-rest and back. Various series of these cars were
fabricated between the '40s and the '50s that remained on duty until
the '80s.
