Sardinian Railways - The Green Train [Europe, Italy]
A wide narrow gauge railway network company (600 km) around Cagliari, Sassari and Macomer and consisting of branches that in the past -some lines were formed in 1888- were used to connect the inland to the main centers and harbours. The company also operates a museum and all the services along the touristic lines Mandas - Arbatax, Isili - Sorgono, Macomer - Bosa and Nulvi - Palau.

Italian Touristic Railways - Ferrovie Turistiche Italiane
Volounteer association that operates touristic vintage trains at weekends in spring and summer on the preserved lines of the Basso Sebino Rly (10 km close to Iseo Lake), Val d'Orcia Rly (51 km in Tuscany, around Siena) and, in future, along the Colle Val d'Elsa-Poggibonsi (in Tuscany).

Bluebell Railway - [Europe, Great Britain]
The first volunteer run UK's preserved standard gauge railway, re-opened in 1960. Since then it has developed into one of the largest tourist attractions, yet it still remains true to its objectives of the preservation of a country branch line, its steam locomotives, coaches and goods stock, signalling systems, stations and operating practices.

Talyllin Railway - [Europe, Great Britain, Wales]

The first touristic line of the UK, an historic narrow-gauge steam railway -seven and a quarter miles long- set in the beautiful Mid-Wales countryside. A rural byway where the pace of life is gentle, the average speed of the train is still less than nine miles per hour, and passengers can have an unhurried journey along the beautiful and unspoilt Fathew Valley. Both the original locomotives and all the original carriages remain in regular use to this day.

Ferrovia Furka-Oberalp - [Europe, Switzerland]
